Emerson Hall, named for Wallace Emerson, the college’s first president, sits on the highest part of campus and commands a view of the Santa Barbara Channel Islands and the Santa Ynez Mountains. This two-story building features four, split-level living areas, each with a traditional hallway to which all rooms open. About 100 returning and transfer students enjoy Emerson’s intimate atmosphere.
