Known on campus as the UC, Putnam University Center houses numerous services and activity offices for students. Dedicated in 1970, the University Center is named for George Putnam, former publisher and editor of the Capital Journal newspaper, who left his estate to Willamette. It was remodeled and expanded in 1995. The main level houses The Willamette Store, Information Center, Mail Center, Maps Credit Union and the Bistro Willamette, a student-run café.
