Martha Springer Botanical Garden
Located behind the Sparks Athletic Center, Martha Springer Botanical Garden is the fulfillment of the inspiration and hard work of a group of professors and students. In 1988, the garden was dedicated to emeritus Professor Martha Springer, a valued member of Willamette's biology and botany department for over 30 years.
The Martha Springer Garden is divided into 12 areas of interest including a butterfly garden, herb garden, alpine rock garden, theme borders and ethno-botany gardens. Over a third of the garden is dedicated to Oregon native areas attempting to recreate the environments of the coast, Western Cascades, Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon.
