    3. St. Mark's Chapel

St. Mark's Chapel was built in 1857. It was recently declared a historical site but the Quebec Government. It is a unique place on campus where students can come to collect their thoughts or play the organ.

    4. McGreer Hall

McGreer Hall, our oldest building on campus, was built in 1846. Since it was Bishop's first structure, this meant it needed to house classrooms, the residences, the library and cafeteria. Today, McGreer is home to all administrative functions.

    5. Quad

The Quad is one of the most popular places on campus. There are always students hanging out and exciting events taking place.

    6. Norton

      Traditional style

This dorm is located between the academic buildings and the library in the heart of the campus known as the Quad. Single, double and quadruple rooms are available.

Since 1950, this residence has been turning out some of Bishop’s most brilliant and legendary students. It is connected to Pollack through the 2nd floor, enabling residents to enjoy the use of common areas and laundry facilities in both buildings. Norton overlooks the historic Quad and is the closest residence to the university centre and most of the academic buildings. It is known for its spirit, camaraderie, and pride.

Many first year students opt for traditional style residence because of the interaction amount students caused by shared bathroom facilities.

All residence students are subject to a mandatory meal plan. There are no “room only” assignments.

This dorm is located between the academic buildings and the library in the heart of the campus known as the Quad. Single, double and quadruple rooms are available.

Pollack is a mere hop, skip, and a jump from the Library (a vital fact to tell your parents). It’s the smallest residence on campus, housing 46 residents primarily on two floors. Attached to Norton by the second floor corridor, residents are able to use the common areas and laundry facilities of both buildings. What Pollack lacks in size, it makes up for in friendliness and warmth. Welcome to a unique and dynamic place to live!

Many first year students opt for traditional style residence because of the interaction amount students caused by shared bathroom facilities.

    8. John Bassett Memorial Library

The Library Learning Commons at Bishop’s University is designed to explore the rich intersections between learning, space, and technology. Originally built in 1959 to house the University’s library and archives collection and extensively renovated in 2017/2018, the new Library Learning Commons is at the centre of campus life at Bishop’s. Situated on the west side of the University’s famous “Quad”, the building is a hive of activity throughout the academic year as students, faculty, staff and the community take advantage of all the services on offer. We warmly invite you to explore the newly renovated space.
    9. Writing Center

The Writing Centre, located in the library, offers students the opportunity to schedule a meeting with one of our experts to help them review grammar, syntax, sourcing, and more, and have a second set of eyes evaluate their papers.

This program is free for students and is an especially useful resource for first year students who are adjusting to the transition between high school/CEGEP and university academic expectations.

    10. Turner Studio Theatre

Welcome to Turner Studio Theatre, home to the Drama department.

This is our small theatre on campus, with 120 seats, where most of the drama performances take place. It is a "Black Box Theatre", meaning that the students that run the plays have the ability to transform the stage to suit the play and are limited by only their imaginations. Whether the audience is sitting on chairs in front of the play, sitting on cushions in a circle or interacting with the actors, you're always in for a great show!

Turner Studio Theatre is completely run and operated by the Drama department students and there is always room for amateur actors and actresses from all programs.  Students interested in the technical side such as lighting, stage design, costume design, and play writing are always welcome.
    11. Centennial Theatre

Home to professional productions on tour with more than 40 shows and concerts per year, Centennial Theatre is considered one of Canada's best regional theatres. The high caliber program complements the liberal art education provided at Bishop's and offers many opportunities for students to meet top artists in dance, classical music, jazz, world music, circus and multi-media presentations.

It is also the place to be inspired by distinguished speakers from the Donald Lecture Series. Past speakers include Edward Snowden, Colonel Chris Hadfield, Michaëlle Jean, and many more.

Drama and music students benefit immensely from Centennial as a professional venue offering a platform for high-tech training and hands-on learning in stage design, lighting, and sound from world-renown performers and industry experts.

Moreover, Centennial allows students to develop staff management and customer service skills by working for the theatre as house managers and ushers.
    12. Foreman Art Gallery

The Foreman Art Gallery is located next to Centennial Theatre in the Student Union Building and houses exhibitions by professionals as well as graduating Fine Arts students. The gallery presents rotating exhibitions that focus on cultural and social issues.

Through its Community Art Lab it seeks to redefine the limits of museum work by engaging with issues common to artists and gallery visitors through films, discussion groups, workshops and presentations. It explores from a creative point of view the pressing social issues of our day and how these affect our direct community. It gathers individuals from the community, whether students, artists, researchers and members of the general population and via public events, works towards stimulating an increased understanding of the visual and media arts in the City of Sherbrooke.

There are opportunities for students to get involved as volunteers and gain valuable experience. Students from various programs such as Art Education, Art History and Fine Arts can also apply to participate in an experiential learning program and gain hands-on experience at the gallery while earning academic credits. The yearly Grad Show is a unique opportunity for the graduating Fine Arts students to show their artwork in a professional gallery and work closely with a professional curator.
    13. Student Union Building (SUB)

The Student Union Building, also known as the SUB, is the central spot on campus for student activity.

Don't be shy to stop by the Students' Representative Council (SRC) to see what is going on on campus, or even better, get involved!

The SUB is also the place to pick up a quick bite to eat, whether it's at Doolittle's General Store, Tim Hortons, the Gaiter Grill or Quiznos.

You will also find the Bookstore where you will buy most of your school books and purple swag! Next to the Bookstore, we have the campus pub, The Gait, where there is always something going on from hockey games to live bands and DJs.

The SUB also houses our Student Services where students can access services such as counsellingcareer and employment assistance, tutoring and accessibility and accommodation

    14. Mackinnon

      Traditional style

Our “Dewies” dining hall is at your doorstep, so is our brand new Sports Centre. Single, double and triple rooms are available.

Mackinnon is a traditional-style residence and houses approximately 115 residents. Situated at the centre of campus, Mack is a mere stone’s throw from practically everything at Bishop’s. Mackinnonites also enjoy the use of a common kitchen facility, TV lounge, and the Blue Room, an inviting lounge and study facility. You and the friends you’ll make will be glad you spent your year in Mackinnon Hall!

Many first year students opt for traditional style residence because of the interaction amount students caused by shared bathroom facilities.

All residence students are subject to a mandatory meal plan. There are no “room only” assignments.

    15. Security Office

The strong sense of community at Bishop's adds to the safety of our campus. People look out for each other. Bishop's has a centrally-located security office that is on duty 24/7. The officers patrol campus on a regular basis. Moreover, a group of trained students called Student First Aid Patrol walk around on and off campus to ensure that students are sage. We also have a group of student Marshals who you will notice in their red t-shirts at all our social, athletic and academic events. Both Student First Aid Patrol and Marshals are great job opportunities.

Munster is a home to be envied for its picturesque view of the Bishop’s landscape, as well as its tranquil nature. It has once exception to its regulations in that it has quiet hours 24 hours a day, whereas the other buildings have quiet hours from 11:00pm to 7:00am. Munsterites always manage to create their own niche in University life and Lennoxville culture. Get involved!

Kuehner, traditionally pronounced “keener”, is home sweet home to a medley of new and returning students. As the residence hall located closest to the Sports Plex and furthest from the Library, this New Side building always produces (among other things) a breed of students tough enough to make the daily trek across campus to class (3-5 min.), come rain, snow, sleet, or shine!

    23. Principal Michael Goldbloom's Home

Harrold Drive is where the Principal and some professors have their homes. There is a good chance that you will be invited to the Principal's home for a reception and to a professor's home for a potluck dinner at least once during your time at Bishop's.

Every year during Orientation Week, students come and sing the school song to the Principal on his front lawn.

Find out more about Principal Michael Goldbloom here.

Studying in the Williams School of Business provides you with a practical, experiential, interactive business education. You’ll learn to solve real-life marketing dilemmas, devise innovative solutions for local companies and start building your own business network.

Small class sizes allow for high participation rates and ability to develop skill such as presentation and critical thinking.

The WSB boasts highly qualified professors from around the world. Our professors are committed to teaching and student learning while also pushing the limits of their research. Students have the opportunity to be a teacher’s assistant or research assistant, which will prepare them for the graduate level.

It also offers a Co-operative Education Program, which gives students a chance to combine their academic studies with an integrated work experience. Through a close relationship with the Dobson-Lagassé Entrepreneurship Centre, located on the Bishop’s University campus, students can apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world situations working with companies in the local community.
    26. Johnson

This building is home to the division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Fully renovated laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and equipment promote our commitment to hands-on learning. This is in contrast to large universities where the majority of instruments and equipment are reserved for graduate students only. Students at Bishop’s benefit greatly from this knowledge in future employment and graduate studies.
