      About this Location

The lower level of the Haverty Center contains a coffee house/pub area, poet’s corner with fireplace, the Monte Cassino Inn, the Raven Store, the student workout facility and swimming pool.

The Raven Roost is once again located in the center of the first floor of this building. The Roost unites the past history of the college and its alumni with the lives of our current and future students.  The centerpiece of the Raven Roost is the mural titled "The Development of Atchison Around the Benedictine Community" and was done by Anthony Benton Gude, grandson of Thomas Hart Benton.

Words taken from the "Rule of St. Benedict" adorn the tops of the archways in the Raven Roost as a reminder of what the true foundation of the college is.  They include Family, Listen, Hospitality, Work & Prayer, Peace and Community.

      Upper-level Gymnasium

The Haverty Center, located above the John Paul II Student Center is home to the Raven Strength & Conditional Program as well as the Raven Wrestling Room and the Old Gymnasium. Two racquetball courts are located above the gymnasium on the south side of the building. Additionally, the cheer program's practice facility is housed on what was the old stage area on the north side of the gymnasium.

During the school year, the Old Gym space is utilized by students and as a secondary workout facility for all of our athletic programs. The playing floor of the Old Gymnasium was restored to its glory days several years ago and with upgrades to the goals, the basketball teams are able to use the space for practice during times of the year when both teams, as well as volleyball, need access for practice.
