      1. New Mexico Privet (Forestiera neomexicana)

        New Mexico Privet is an excellent choice for a relatively fast-growing shrub, screen, or even small multi-trunked tree. It has bright green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Plants are either male or female: females will produce blue-black berries if male plants are grown nearby. New Mexico privet requires some pruning to tame its wild form but can be most useful as a mid-sized and waterwise landscape element.
