      1. Tricolor Beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor,' 'Roseomarginata')

Latin Name - Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor,' 'Roseomarginata'
        Height - 20-30 feet
        Spread - 10-20 feet
        Growth Rate - Slow
        USDA Zone - 5 to 7
        Drought Tolerance - Low

A choice cultivar of European beech, 'Tricolor' features wavy leaves of rose and dark red. Some plants display a pink or creamy white coloration as well. Exhibiting the same smooth bark and muscular branching as the species, this selection is even slower growing. Tricolor beech should be sited carefully as a little shade and good irrigation will help avoid leaf scorch.
