    1. Valentine Hall

Valentine Hall houses upperclass students on its top two floors, but the real draw is on the first floor: the College’s main dining hall. Students and the rest of the Amherst community gather here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as conversation and connection. In addition to favorites like pizza, pasta, burgers, cereal and soft-serve ice cream, the buffet-style servery at “Val” offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and heart-healthy options (plus kosher options at holidays); a salad bar, waffle bar, smoothie bar, panini station and stir-fry station; and internationally themed cuisine. All food is prepared by Amherst College Dining Services instead of a national or regional service, and much of the produce comes fresh from the Book & Plow Farm, right here on campus. Valentine Hall also includes the Lewis-Sebring Dining Commons, a smaller dining room for faculty and staff, who may invite students in as guests. Learn more about Dining Services.
