    1. College Hall

College Hall houses the Loeb Center for Career Exploration and Planning as well as the offices of the Treasurer, Controller, and Administrative Services. The hall was originally the Amherst town Congregational church, bought by the college in 1867 for $10,000. Before the construction of Kirby Theater in 1938, College Hall served for many years as the college's only auditorium and theater, hosting lectures and performances by the likes of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Bela Bartok.
