    1. Chapin Hall

Chapin Hall is home to the Departments of History and Religion, and to several classrooms. The chapel inside serves as a nondenominational worship space and a quiet meeting place for student groups. Designed by James Kellum Smith of the class of 1915 and opened in 1958, the building as a whole is named for Edward Whitman Chapin of the class of 1863, and the chapel is dedicated to Edward’s son Arthur Beebe Chapin, class of 1891.
