    1. Fayerweather Hall

Home to the Department of Art and the History of Art, Fayerweather Hall was opened in 1892, originally as a science center. Students come to Fayerweather’s studios to paint, draw, sculpt, and more. The studios on the top floor have skylights to allow in natural light. Art majors, faculty, and local artists display their work in the Eli Marsh Gallery, on the first floor. That floor also features two large classrooms and Pruyne Lecture Hall, where members of the Amherst community often gather to hear guest speakers. The building was designed by the famed architectural firm McKim, Mead & White in the Italian Renaissance Revival style.
