Dedicated in 1983, the five-story Mary Moody Northen Pavilion was built at a cost of $11.6 million.
It is named for philanthropist Mary Moody Northen, businesswoman and elder daughter of William L. Moody Jr. and Libbie Rice Shearn Moody, founders of the Moody Foundation. It houses laboratories and classrooms. The innovative design features a flowing, curvilinear modern form on its northwestern exterior. The southern exposure, which faces the campus, is more angular to blend with the surrounding architecture of the university's older buildings.
