Hole 7: Peter’s Pond
Behind you are the Cedar Dell West and South residence halls and the Cedar Dell Pond. It’s a kettle pond, formed as a result of glacial melt 10,000 years ago with naturally steep sides, and was once a great fishing spot. The pond served for many years as a source for ice for ice boxes (early refrigerators). It was also a winter encampment site for Native Americans who moved to the ocean’s edge in the summer.
