In August, 2014, LED lighting was installed in the Turf Room of the Perry Field House. This project significantly increased the brightness of lighting for the various sports competitions and practices which occur there regularly, and saves the university close to $14,000 annually in energy and maintenance costs, compared to the prior lighting, which was original to the building. The project was funded by the BGSU Student Green Initiatives Fund. With the savings incurred and other financial incentives from the electric provider, this project will pay for itself in a little over a year.
