The second building in the Gateway Park complex, Gateway II, officially opened in 2013. The top two floors of the 92,000-square-foot building are occupied by Siemens Metal Technologies, and the bottom two floors are home to WPI's Business School, Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation, and the expanded Fire Protection Engineering Department and research laboratory. The building also houses WPI’s 10,000-square-foot Biomanufacturing Education and Training Center, a fully functional bench- to pilot-scale biomanufacturing plant where professionals can explore new processes, train on state-of-the-art equipment, and hone their skills with hands-on practice.
