    1. “From the Mountain to the Sea” by Mary Weatherford

Mary Weatherford's 10 feet high by 20 feet wide canvas covers an entire section of the southern wall of the Athenaeum's Eggert Dining Room.

In the mural, "From the mountain to the sea," layers of earth-and-stone colors — elemental greens and varieties of black —  mingle with blues that "seep like water, like the ocean," Weatherford said. "I realized I wasn't thinking only of Mt. Baldy but of the ocean, too."
