Texas Woman’s history and modern technology meet in the Blagg-Huey Library. Decorated with stained glass and traditional architecture, the library also hosts modern amenities and workspaces to enhance your studying. Fun Fact: The library cupola—the pretty tower atop the building—is also known on campus as the office for our mascot, Oakley.

For many years, our historic Old Main building— the first first building on campus—was used for everything, including classrooms, the library and the auditorium. Today, it’s home to our several academic departments and our Institute for Women’s Leadership, which prepares students and women in the community to become successful in business and public policy roles. The institute’s three specialized centers—Center for Student Leadership, Center for Women Entrepreneurs and Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy—ensure women have the education to establish careers as successful C-suite executives, the skills for building entrepreneurial businesses and the framework needed to run for public office.Fun Fact: While taking down a wall for building renovations, workers discovered a time capsule from 1927. The time capsule included a letter by Jessie Humphries, a former associate dean who also wrote the words inscribed on the base of the Pioneer Woman Statue.
