  1. CSUCI Walking Tour

    1. Sage Hall

      Located on the first floor of Sage Hall is the Enrollment Center, which serves as a one-stop shop for students.  Some of the services offered include:

      • Financial Aid
        • Students can receive information and assistance with college funding including loans, grants, scholarships and Federal Work Study.
      • Admissions and Recruitment
        • Prospective students can get information about university admissions and the application process
      • Records and Registration
        • Current student can receive assistance with registration and degree verification. 
      • Student Business Services
        • Students can get their ID cards, pay their tuition and fees and purchase meal cards. 
      • Campus Tour
        • Prospective students and their families can take a tour or receive information about how to register for a future tour

      Located on the 2nd floor is the offices for Extended University and International Programs. 

    2. Yuba Hall

      The Student Health Center operates similarly to an outpatient medical clinic, appointments are highly recommended but walk-ins are also seen. Student Health Services is affiliated with numerous clinics throughout Ventura County where students can be seen after hours while still being covered by their student health fees.

       

      Some of the services offered include first aid, evaluation and treatment of common ailments, women’s wellness, physicals associated with university activities and health education.

       

      The mission of CSUCI Student Health Services is to support students by promoting physical and mental well-being.

       

    3. Town Center

      The Town Center is located in our adjacent housing community on the east end of campus.  Town Center apartments currently house over 100 students in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. 

      The Town Center is home the University Bookstore and various eateries including Tortillas Mexican Grill, Dumpling, Pizza 3.14, the Town Center Market and Freudian Sip. 

      Also located in the Town Center are a variety of businesses that provide services to students and the campus.

       

    4. Placer Hall

      This area is home to:

      Campus Police:

      They provide  24-hour/ 365 day a year service to the campus.   All Police officers are also trained to deal with medical emergencies.

       

      Parking Services:

      Students can purchase parking permits and Vista Bus passes. Students can also find information about alternative information including Zip Cars and Ride Matching. The current cost of parking permits is $195 per semester for students. Daily permits are $6. The Vista Bus shuttle service cost is $25 per semester and is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays until 5:30 pm. (subject to change)

       

      In the evening, parking provides escort services for students on campus from 5pm until 10 pm.

       

    5. Smith Decision Center

      Providing CSUCI business students with real-life business learning opportunities, the MVS Center uses the latest technologies so students are able to engage in computer simulations of running a business, providing hands-on experience in making business decisions with local, national, or global implications.

      The MVS Center features a state-of-the art, 60-seat case-study classroom with tiered, semi-circular seating with power outlet, data port, and Internet access at each work station; a large scrolling LED Ticker to display streaming stock quotes and custom messages; two projection screens with video feed from an integrated instructor station; and laptop computers available for computer-supported group participation. Two, eight-seat conference rooms for breakout sessions or small group meetings are also available in the MVS Center.

    6. Del Norte Hall

      Del Norte Hall houses classrooms, study lounges and is home to a large lecture hall (1 of 2 on campus).

       

    7. Broome Library

      The John Spoor Broome Library is housed in an architecturally stunning building designed by the world famous British architect Lord Norman Foster. The library merges the campus mission architecture with a modern glass structure, combining both styles into a student–centered digital teaching library. The library's mission is to enhance CI's mission through active collaboration with students, faculty, and staff in developing collections, services, information and computer literacy skills.


      The library gives students access to a robust collection of 235,000 bound and digital books, over 20,000 electronic journals and newspapers, numerous databases, a comprehensive digital image collection, DVD's/VHS's, CD's, best sellers, and children's books and K-8 curriculum materials. In addition, the library houses a number of interesting archival and special collections that can be used for original research


      The building is home to the University Writing Center, the Learning Resource Center, and the Information Technology Help Desk. The building provides study spaces for both individuals and small groups. There are 130 hardwired computers with additional laptop computers available for check out. The library also circulates digital cameras, digital video cameras, flip video cameras, digital tape recorders, and projection units.


      The library also gives bridge access to our Town Center


      University Writing and Multiliteracy Center & Learning Resource Center:

      These centers are designed to provide students with the tools to improve their skills and make the most out of their learning experience here at CSUCI.


      The Learning Resource Center offers students one-on-one peer tutoring in both with mathematics and other subjects. Tutors help students with study skills, comprehension, homework, and test preparation.

      The University Writing and Multiliteracy Center offers support services for students requiring help with editing, organizing a paper, and improving writing skills and assistance with all forms of communication including written, oral, visual and digital.

    8. Ojai Hall

    9. Bell Tower

      The Bell Tower is one of the campus’ iconic buildings that offers both classrooms and student services.  Included in those are:


      Academic Advising:


      Serves the advising needs of currently enrolled undergraduate students. Our staff is dedicated to student success and assisting student in reaching their academic and career goals. Services are delivered in a one-on-one or group setting and online.


      Career Development Center:

      Assists students in all phases of their career development through:

      • Jobs and Internships
      • Career Counseling
      • Resume Resources
      • Workshops
      • Graduate and Professional School Resources

      Multi-Cultural Dream Center

      Educational Opportunity Program (EOP):

      EOP is a student-centered program that provides college access to students that may be the first in their family to attend college


      Freshman students gain entrance to the program by completing a separate application at the time they apply to the university.


      Veteran’s Affairs Program

      Assists prospective and enrolled student veterans and dependents in transitioning and engaging with the campus community.


      Classrooms:

      Average class size is 24 students.


      All classrooms are equipped with computers and projectors, T-3 internet connection which is much faster than DSL.

    10. South Quad

      The South Quad is a large open area on campus that is used for student events and programs like Commencement.  Flanked by the Bell Tower, student housing and Islands Café, you will often find students engaged in activities in this area. 

       

    11. Islands Cafe

      This is CI’s large dining commons. Students and the University community can select from a wide variety of options and daily special in the all-you-can-eat facility.

       

    12. Santa Rosa Village

      CSUCI’s newest residence hall.  It currently houses 600-700 freshmen and 15 Resident Advisors.  Bedrooms are primarily double occupancy with some triple occupancy available.  The complex has many amenities for use by residents including a large community kitchen, community lounge and game area. 

       

    13. Anacapa Village

      Home to 350 juniors, seniors, transfers, international, and graduate students and is comprised of 87 four-bedroom, two bathroom apartments. Most are shared by six students and offer two single bedrooms and two double bedrooms. Anacapa also offers a variety of common areas including study rooms, computer labs, presentation room, surfboard storage, a built-in barbeque, swimming pool, and hot tub.

    14. Santa Cruz Village

      Home to 460 second-year student as well as some upper-division students, Santa Cruz offers mostly two-bedroom, one-bathroom, furnished semi-suites generally shared by four to six students. Santa Cruz has excellent activity and co-curricular space such as a game room, an exercise room, ballet and art studios, sound resistant music practice rooms, and study, television, and computer lounges. Each student room has cable TV and wireless internet access.

       

    15. Arroyo Hall

      Fitness Center

      Home to the campus Fitness Center and includes a gym, basketball and volleyball courts.  Students enjoy free use of the facilities. 

      Home to our Outdoor adventures programs that offer hiking, camping, deep-sea fishing, etc.

      Disability Accommodations and Support Services:

      Disability Accommodations and Support Services is dedicated to providing a broad range of support services to meet the needs of students with all types of physical, psychological and learning impairments. Their aim is to provide accommodations that will assist students in overcoming barriers and reducing the impact of their disability on their college experience.

       

    16. Aliso Hall

      State-of-the art science classrooms including eight state of the art laboratories, a 110-seat auditorium, and 16 faculty offices.


      The labs are specially fitted for the comprehensive study of biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, bioinformatics, and other related disciplines.

    17. Student Union Building

      At approximately 25,000 square feet the Student Union includes the following: the Lighthouse Café and the Freudian Sip,  a beautiful outdoor space with ample outdoor seating known as the Tree House Courtyard,  game room on the first floor with flat screen TVs, pool tables, shuffle board, table tennis, air hockey and gaming consoles.  Lounge areas are located in the East Wing and the Tree House Lounge.  The Coville Conference room hosts monthly ASI Board of Directors meetings and is ideal for large student group meetings and the second floor provides additional lounge and study space, two meeting rooms, and houses the offices of  Student Government, Student Programming Board, The Nautical yearbook, The CI View newspaper, and ASI career staff. 

       

    18. Sierra Hall

      One of the newest buildings on campus


      Sierra Hall houses instructional lab space for Anthropology, Computer Science, Environmental Science and Resource Management, Geology, Physics, and Psychology. There are gathering spaces and study areas for students throughout the space. Sierra Hall was designed to meet LEED-Platinum standards

    19. Central Mall

      Central Mall fountain marks the completion of the central mall renovation, at the heart of the university, it provides a welcoming area for students to gather and study


      The Central Mall fountain is used for our “Becoming a Dolphin” ritual during Island View Orientation.


      Also located in the Central Mall is the peace pole. Inscribed on the pole is the message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in seven languages, and symbolized the University’s collective support for and celebration of peace, social justice and diversity.
