The Forrest G. Pridgen Memorial Athletic Field (also known as the intramural activity area), is located between the Abernethy Physical Education Center and the Ketner Hall parking lot. The field is home to the Beach Volleyball courts and is one of Catawba's outdoor spaces where Catawba Intramurals events take place. The area is dedicated in memory of two individuals, a former facilities employee, Forest Pridgen, and a former student, Darris Morris. Lights with timers were installed in this area in 2007.
