The One Room Country Schools of Kansas is a book that tells the story of the people who created and nurtured the one room schools in communities throughout Kansas. These teachers, parents, and community members, with sometimes little or no formal training of their own, worked hard to provide the best possible education to their children. These students then in turn, went on to play significant roles in the economic, social, and political life of Kansas.
