In February of 1950, the ground breaking for the new library building, William Allen White Library, took place. The new library was named in honor of the native Emporian who purchased the Emporia Gazette and became a very distinguished journalist. In addition to the many books and periodicals in the library, there are computer labs, laptops, printers, scanners, copiers, and the Writing Center and ACES for academic support. All are available for student use.
