Academic Quadrangle Redesign
Beginning in November of 2023, and continuing through summer of 2024, temporary construction fencing will restrict access to portions of the
Academic Quadrangle while landscaping teams redesign this area of the campus.
The Academic Quad remains on schedule for completion in Spring 2024, and the Sallyport archway of Lovett Hall will be open for the traditional walk-through for graduates during commencement. Following graduation, in early May of 2024, plaza and sidewalk repairs on the Founder's Court side of Lovett Hall will begin, and fencing will be erected in this area of the campus.
Rice looks forward to hosting a grand opening celebration for the new Academic Quad early in the fall semester of 2024.
Some fencing will remain up in the quad until then to allow the roots of new landscape plantings to become more established.
