Valhalla started more than 50 years ago as a place for graduate students to hang out, relax and socialize. Sandwiches and other snacks are available for purchase at lunchtime (M-F, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and a wide variety of draft and bottled beers are offered during regular hours (4 p.m. to 2 a.m., closed Saturdays).
Valhalla only accepts cash (ATMs are located in Fondren Library and the Rice Memorial Center), and be warned: the bar's casual dress code is strictly enforced -- no ties allowed.
