    1. Ray Courtyard

Named for Rice alumnus and former Rice board member Robert H. Ray '25, this beautiful garden was added to the RMC complex in 1968, eleven years after the building and chapel were constructed. Framed by the cloisters of the chapel and student affairs offices and the east facade of the RMC Grand Hall, it is a quiet and shady place to sit and study or enjoy a meal (al fresco) beneath the limbs of the courtyard's live oak trees.
