      Constructed by the Minnesota State University, Mankato Foundation for lease to Minnesota State University, Mankato, this was the first academic building financed from private funds on a Minnesota State University campus through special authorization of the Minnesota Legislature. It was built in 1986. The classroom building was officially named in a dedication ceremony Dec. 7, 1987, when Charles Pennington, former member of the Minnesota State University, Mankato Foundation and Minnesota State Mankato alumnus, was honored.
