Built in 1914, the Academic Building houses the Department of Sociology and Department of Global Languages & Cultures. The building exemplifies the Texas A&M core value of selfless service with its two centerpieces: a replica of the Liberty Bell given to the university following World War II, and a seal on the floor gifted by the Class of 1978.
