    1. Maxwell Savage Hall

Maxwell Savage was completed in 1932 after the First Academic Building was destroyed by fire in 1931. It is the most prominent and recognizable building on campus. Named for a well-known Unitarian minister, Maxwell Savage is the main academic building, serving as a home to the world language department, the student mailroom, the bookstore, and administrative offices. The bell atop Maxwell, as the students call it, rings to call the school together for morning assemblies and to celebrate team victories. The back addition, built in 1958, is home to the English Department and connects to the Wise community center.
