On September 6, 1973, the Tarleton State University administration and faculty hosted a public open house to celebrate the multilevel $2 million building. The building originally opened to house the English, Social Science, Business and Art departments of the university.
Classes in the humanities can include but are not limited to: English, Philosophy, Art Appreciation, Art History, Visual and Theater Arts, Art of Film, Arts in Contemporary Society, Fundamentals of Music, and Music Appreciation.
The O.A. Grant Humanities Building houses the following:
