The Office of Safety and Security is a full-time, 24-hour, 365-day-a-year operation. Staff are trained to respond to many types of situations including emergencies such as fire, medical illness and injuries, and criminal activity. Officers work closely with local law enforcement, fire department, and EMS personnel, and they are NYS licensed and trained according to state standards. In addition, the staff receives training in basic first aid, conflict management techniques, first response for mental health concerns, and violations of rules and laws.
