      • Norwich Carillon

      MORE ABOUT THE CARILLON
Funding for the 50-foot tower was made possible by another woman, Susan Adams Boyer H’78, widow of the late Porter Adams and a generous patron of the arts in Vermont. The tower was built to house a carillon named for yet a third woman, Charlotte Nichols Greene, who purchased the 36 bronze-cast bells and playing mechanism in 1934 following the Chicago World’s Fair, where they had been part of the Belgian government’s exhibit. The Norwich carillon is one of only two in the state of Vermont.
