Middlebury’s social houses give students of all walks of life an opportunity to live together in an inclusive community setting with frequent house gatherings, social events, and group meals. While many members live in these houses, membership can extend across campus to those in other dorms as well.

Prescott is home to Chromatic. Chromatic is a social house for students who are creatively minded and want to form a community around creating, collaborating, and showcasing various projects. This theme takes many forms at Chromatic, including visual arts, performing arts, and even culinary arts.

Prescott is one of the four Ridgeline houses, a group of buildings that sit in a ring on the western side of campus alongside West Cemetery and the undeveloped Vermont woods. Students live in one of the 14 singles or eight doubles and make use of two kitchens, a TV room, loft, rec room, and basement for hosting events, performances, and house meetings.
