Many Middlebury students, whether they participate in intercollegiate sports or not, use the Fitness Center to blow off steam during the school year.
The 10,500-foot facility is free to use for students and includes 40 pieces of aerobic equipment, a full 22-piece Nautilus circuit, a hammer circuit, a large functional training area, and extensive free weight and dumbbell areas with more than four tons of weight.
All of the dumbbells and plates are urethane-coated and embellished with the Middlebury Panther logo. There is also a full set of kettlebells and heavyweight equipment, including seven Olympic power stations, six adjustable husker racks, three adjustable squat racks, and four leg-press machines.
The space is unintimidating and welcoming to students of all fitness levels, with fitness classes available for beginners to experts.
