On sunny days and snowy days alike, Battell Beach buzzes with students. There is no body of water at the beach; rather it is a large expanse of grass, a quadrangle unbroken by concrete paths, that stretches between academic buildings and dorm buildings. In the fall and spring, comfortable wooden Adirondack chairs dot the expanse.
It is perhaps the most popular spot on campus to see students relaxing, studying, soaking up the sun, or playing with a Frisbee or soccer ball.
