  1. New Student Campus Tour

    Stops

    1. A Building

      The A building is where Enrollment Services is located. Here, students can get general help with the application and enrollment process, setting up mySierra, class registration, understanding the class schedule or purchasing parking permits.

      The Admissions and Records Office is also in this building. Here, students can get their residency fixed, order transcripts and turn in registration forms/petitions.

    2. Library (LR Building)

      On the first floor of the LR building, you'll find the Ridley Gallery. The gallery exhibits high caliber work of leading regional, national, and international artists, as well as faculty artists, alumni, and students. On this floor, you'll also find the Sierra College Timeline, where you can view Sierra College history and learn fun facts about the school. You'll also find some staff offices and a few classrooms.

      The second floor of the LR building is where you'll find the library and circulation desk. You can get your student ID here, check out library and professor copies of textbooks and get technology-related assistance. This floor also has our reference desk where students can make appointments with librarians to get research help. The Writing Center is located here as well and students can meet with faculty to develop writing and oral skills for papers, essays, exams, resumes and applications. Lastly, there a commons area with an open space computer lab and study spaces.

      The third floor of the library is a quiet zone. This is where you can sit in a comfy spot and study in silence as well as browse around the vast collections of books. You will find additional study rooms and the meditation room on this floor as well.

      The fourth floor of the library is where you will find the Success Center, the Community Center, the Tutoring Center and the Veterans Success Center.

    3. Lt Building

      In the Lt Building you will find the Career and Transfer Connections office and Testing Services.

      Career and Transfer Connections provides resources and guidance to help students research careers, gain career experience, earn credit for internships, and hone professional development skills, including resume writing. Students can also get assistance with the transfer process if they intend to continue their education after Sierra College.

      Testing Services can help proctor exams for students who need to make-up missed in-class exams, tests, or quizzes.

    4. J Building

      In the J Building you will find the Associated Students of Sierra College (ASSC) office which is an excellent place for students to connect with others either by joining a club or creating one. The Student Senate, located in the same room, is where students participate in the college’s shared governance process. Students can also receive their $10 per semester ASSC Activity Sticker here to receive benefits like free meals from the cafeteria, 10% off all bookstore items and 30 minutes of free legal aid. 

      The Cross Cultural Center, which is also located in this building, includes a Native American Resource Room, the Puente program, an Umoja Community room, and the Undocumented Student Center, The Cross Cultural Center provides a space for students to feel safe and comfortable in a multicultural setting that is accepting and welcoming. Many different clubs often meet in here such as the Native American Club, Disability Awareness Club, Dream Club and more. You'll also find the Pride Center and the Women and Gender Resource Center in the J building.

      In the J building you will also find the Cafeteria and Wolverine Den (coffee shop) that serves Starbucks coffee and some vending machines. If you live in the dorms, you will be able to use your meal card in both places.

    5. K Building

      The K Building is where you will find the Sierra College Bookstore. Here you can buy, or rent textbooks, purchase school supplies, or get snacks or beverages. Just outside the Bookstore you will find the pickup counter that is open during busy times of the year for quick pickup of items purchased online. 

      You will also find the Food Pantry and Basic Needs Center in the K building. Both are open to currently enrolled Sierra College students and provide services that help connect students to free or low-cost food, wellbeing and other support services.
    6. Nursing Village

      One of the most popular majors at Sierra College is Nursing. Once students have completed the prerequisites and been accepted to our Nursing Program, they will have the option to complete courses for Registered Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, or work towards their Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Included in our Nursing Village we have mock doctor rooms and a mock emergency room that students will use to practice and prepare for real-world situations in their future careers.

    7. Parking Garage

      The five-level parking structure has a capacity of 1,501 vehicles and has electric vehicle chargers on floors one and two.

    8. W Building

      The W building, also called Weaver Hall, is the home of the Liberal Arts divisionIn this building, you will find a photography darkroom and an applied art and design lab. 

      Most foreign language and American Sign Language (ASL) classes are held in Weaver Hall.

    9. L Building

      The L building, also know as the Winstead Center, is where you will find the majority of on campus student support services. 

      This is where you can find the Cashier's Office, where refunds and payments are made, as well as the Financial Aid office. In this building are our support programs including EOPS, TRiO, SAS and more. Counselors are also here to help individuals figure out their student education plan for their time at Sierra College.

      Every semester, students
      are required to pay a health center fee which includes treatment for bumps, scrapes, and bruises along with mental health counseling appointments, and more at our Health Center located in this building.
    10. Residence Hall (Z Building)

      Sierra College is one of only a few California Community Colleges that has a Residence Hall on campus. The Residence Hall can hold up to 120 students.

      All rooms are double-occupancy, which means you will share your room with another person, and bathrooms are shared between two rooms, in what we call a quad. 

      The rooms come half-furnished, and the facilities included are water, electricity, compost, and a $65 weekly meal card which can be used in the cafeteria and the local restaurants listed on the housing page of the school website. Additionally, students have access to a kitchen with kitchenware, laundry rooms, study rooms, and a commons lounge.

    11. S Building

      The S building, also called Sewell Hall, is where most science, physics, engineering, chemistry, anatomy, and biology classes take place. Upstairs, there is a planetarium where astronomy students can study the night sky anytime of the day. 

      Additionally, the Sierra College Natural History Museum is located here. If you are interested, the Museum has tours that you can schedule, or you can stop by anytime it is open for a self-guided tour. 

    12. Dietrich Theatre (T Building)

      The T building, also called Dietrich Theatre, is where you will find Drama department classes and theatre productions.
