    Stops

    1. Grange Park

Grange Park is a beautiful and historic green space located in downtown Toronto. The local community - including OCAD University - works in partnership with the City of Toronto and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) to ensure that the park continues to thrive as a vibrant and accessible destination for all to enjoy. The large lawn in the middle of the park attracts spontaneous bouts of soccer, Frisbee playing, catch and croquet. The large trees provide a cool and quiet spot to read, snack and snooze during hot summer days. The park also includes an off-leash dog park, a splash pad, fountains and a playground. Members of the community can often be spotted practicing Tai Chi in the park in the early mornings, any time of the year.
    2. George Reid Wing

The George Reid Wing is the original 1921 campus building of the Ontario College of Art (OCA) and the first building in Canada built specifically for the purpose of the education of professional artists and designers. The wing is named for painter George Reid, an OCA alumnus and then-principal who designed the building alongside then-vice-principal and Group of Seven member Arthur Lismer.
    3. Butterfield Park

Butterfield Park is located under the Rosalie Sharp Centre for Design and connects with walking paths to Grange Park, next door. The park is often used to host OCAD U events such as Welcome Day and Orientation programming, or aspects of our annual Graduate Exhibition. There are publicly accessible washrooms positioned between Butterfield and Grange Parks.

An award-winning Toronto architectural landmark, the iconic Rosalie Sharp Centre for Design (often referred to as "the tabletop") was designed by acclaimed British architect Will Alsop, and is suspended over Butterfield Park by twelve multi-coloured steel legs.

pi'tawita'iek: we go up river is a large-scale outdoor mural by Jordan Bennett installed on the south wall of OCAD University’s main building, adjacent to Butterfield Park. Bennett's work grounds the space in Indigenous material culture, and is rooted in the artists' relationships with Mi’kmaq porcupine quillwork. He brings forward and reimagines their graphic patterns, bright colours and inspiring stories. In visiting with these cultural objects Bennett connects with their visual language and furthers this visual conversation through his contemporary influences and experience.
