    1. Front Office

      This center is just for our Engineering Students. The front desk is where you will be greeted by our student employees that are ready to assist you. The Engineering Student Success Center is a resource hub. If you do not know where to go for questions. Come to the Engineering Student Success Center. This virtual tour will talk about some of the many resources we offer at the Engineering Student Success Center.

    2. First Year Retention Specialist

      Outreach: We have an Education & Outreach Manager that coordinates a once-a-year engineering summer program for our freshman through senior high school students. The Education & Outreach Manager also coordinates hands-on activities on and off campus.

    3. Student lounge

      In here you can study or use the refrigerator/microwave – This is another location students can study, have a lunch break or store their food.

    4. The Study Hall

      We offer tutoring that is in addition to those available to all UNM students. We support core STEM classes, and School of Engineering specific classes.

    5. Unit Administrator

      The unit administrator can answer tutoring questions – The unit administrator also oversees the hiring and managing of tutors. As well as takes care of many administrative duties for ESSC.

    6. Internship & Job Placement Coordinator

      Internships: We have a formal internship program for our 2nd year through grad students. You submit the interest form; we share your resume with participating companies. If they select you, we go from there.


      Our Internship & Job Placement Coordinator provides other services such as resume assistance and mock interviews, etc.

    7. Student Recruiters

      The student recruiter helps to coordinate and provides individual and group tours. As well as other recruitment assistance and activities.


      The 1st and 2nd year Manager manages all activities and programs for 1st and 2nd year students. She acts as a conduit for two of the research programs managed through the Engineering Student Success Center.

       There are many other research opportunities within UNM, but these are the ones we coordinate. Please ask about the co-curricular stand-alone events and Pre-Semester Prep Series that is also managed by our 1st and 2nd year Manager. These co-curricular events provide foundational and supportive skills. Also, the Pre-Semester Prep is going to help prepare you for courses you will take.

    8. The Back Study Room: Quieter

      You have 24/7 access to the Engineering Student Success Center. This is another space students utilize to study. Please see someone at the front desk to gain access. Lockers are also available at a low cost. Some students may want to rent a locker instead of carrying their books around campus.

    9. CAD Laboratory

      3D Printing – For small projects there is computer aided design lab. Here you can find help with desiging parts and a 3D printing lab were you can obtain help with printing components. Please see student employees for help with your class project(s).
