The Health and Fitness Center had been located at Hofstra's Old Westbury Campus from 1978-81. When the property was sold, health facilities were designed in a geodesic shape by John M. Scarlata on the North Campus. Hofstra Dome's current academic uses include the Health Professions and Kinesiology department.
