    At Northwest, fitness is very important. This tour contains some opportunities that are available for physical activity.

    1. Robert and Virginia Foster Fitness Center

      The Foster Fitness Center consists of 19,490 square feet of open floor space to accommodate cardio and weight lifting machines, a human performance lab and classroom space. The facility houses a group exercise room and a 2,300-square-foot mezzanine with cardio equipment and windows that provide natural lighting. It includes locker rooms and an enclosed walkway connecting the Student Recreation Center for added convenience.recreation facilities for student use.

    2. Student Recreation Center

      The Student Recreation Center is a facility for Northwest students, faculty and staff members.

      • Basketball/Volleyball courts
      • Badminton/pickleball courts
      • Racquetball/handball courts
      • Suspended track
      • Upstairs functional fitness training area
      • Exercise machines
    3. High Rise Courts

      The High Rise Courts are outdoor recreational courts for Northwest students, faculty, staff and community use.  

      Facilities include:
      • Tennis
      • Basketball
      • Handball and Pickleball courts
    4. Practice Fields

      The practice fields are available for Northwest students, faculty, staff and community use.
    5. Hughes Fieldhouse

      Located just northwest of College Park and Bearcat Stadium on the Northwest campus, the Carl and Cheryl Hughes Fieldhouse serves as a host site for a wide range of University and community activities.

       

      The Hughes Fieldhouse contains:

      90x55 yard turf inside a 300 meter track

      Batting cages

      Tennis courts

      The Cricket Pitch is a recreation area for Northwest students, faculty, staff and community use.

    10. The MOERA Challenge Course

      Challenge Course

      The Challenge Course at MOERA is comprised of a low elements course, Carolina Climbing Wall, Alpine Tower, and Odyssey III high ropes course. We are dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and productive challenge environment. We are happy to design a custom challenge course program that will meet your specific needs.

    11. Canoes and Kayaking

      Canoes and Kayaking

      Paddle for fun, fishing, or fitness on picturesque Mozingo Lake. Our canoe and kayak rental program includes use of the watercraft, paddles, and lifejackets.
