Welcome to the Fairmont State University School of Nursing where more than 300 students are currently pursuing degrees and over 1900 graduates are practicing in health care positions and facilities throughout the country. The Associates Degree in Nursing Program has a history of successful graduates dating back to 1964. Mildred Montag, the founder of the associates degree in nursing education, helped plan the curriculum for this program. Graduates have consistently exceeded state passing rates on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and are in great demand by employers. We offer three ASN program options. The Traditional ASN Program is best for individuals who can attend regular college courses. The LPN-ASN Program is a synchronous on-line evening program with clinicals two Fridays a month designed for LPNs who wish to become RNs. We are beginning a new program starting spring 2017 which is the ASN Weekend Part-time Program for individuals who want to become an RN, but are unable to attend school during the week. The ASN nursing programs enhance learning through clinical experiences in the authentic arena (hospitals, clinics, community settings), in our state-of-the-art simulation and our skills labs.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program provides associate degree and diploma nurses the chance to enhance their opportunities beyond the bedside and clinical practice area to the management and leadership arena or graduate education. Students can maintain full time employment while pursuing this degree through on-line learning as a part-time or full-time student.

Our faculty, physical facilities, equipment, clinical settings and technology offer students an excellent opportunity to develop their professional skills.

    8. Education Building
