Solar Panel Array
Avon Old Farms hosts a 200-kilowatt solar array on the southern roof of the Jennings Fairchild Hockey Rink. The array began producing electricity in July of 2009 and is dedicated in honor of late faculty member, Michael Stradley, who was a champion of the environment on campus and an advocate of clean energy. On average, the solar array results in a 9% reduction of yearly campus-wide electricity usage.
