      1. Dominican House of Studies

Located across Michigan Avenue from Catholic University, the Dominican House of Studies is both an academic institution and a community of Dominican friars, many of whom are in formation for the priesthood.

Through its Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, an Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology, the Dominicans provide training for both the ordained and nonordained service in the Church through courses based on the theological approach of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Though entirely independent of Catholic University, the Dominicans are active participants in the academic and spiritual life of the campus. Each year in January, the CUA and Dominican communities come together to celebrate the University’s patron St. Thomas Aquinas, himself a Dominican.
