Along with the LBC, the Berger Family Lawn (formerly known as the LBC Quad) serves as a hub for campus life. On any given day, the lawn is home to students studying, relaxing in the sun, playing sports, or enjoying campus events. One of the largest Tulane events, Crawfest, is hosted on the lawn every year. Lately, the lawn has become home to Tailgate Village during football season.
Darryl Berger (L '72), former Chair of the Board of Tulane, has demonstrated a deep affection for Tulane University. He and his wife Louellen made a significant contribution that resulted in naming the bustling green lawn, a central space for Tulane students and alumni experiences, in honor of the Berger family. This gesture reflects their commitment to family and dedication to Tulane University in a lasting manner. As Darryl Berger succinctly states, "Family is paramount to Louellen and me, and we wanted to commemorate our family's legacy, spanning generations, while reaffirming our allegiance to Tulane."
