      1. Barbara Greenbaum House

Greenbaum opened in August 2014 and is home to both first-year students and upperclassmen. Greenbaum is home to about 250 Tulane students every year.

Greenbaum features single and double suite style rooms, study and social lounges on each floor, a classroom, and a demonstration kitchen.

Since 2016, Greenbaum has been home to the Get Engaged Residential learning community. This community caters to students who are interested in integrating their experiences on campus with the greater New Orleans community.

Jerry Greenbaum's decision to name a dormitory at Tulane University after his wife, Barbara, not only honored their enduring partnership but also rectified a potential embarrassment for the university. The dorm, located at Newcomb Lawn on Broadway and Zimple Street, initially faced scrutiny over its naming, as the street's correct spelling stirred debate. Originally intended to be named "Zimple House," the discrepancy arose as the street is actually named after Charles Zimpel, a prominent figure in New Orleans' architectural history. With the renaming to the Barbara Greenbaum House, the university celebrates not only a cherished relationship but also ensures accuracy and respect for local history.
