    Stops

    1. Wheelock Student Center

      On the east side of campus, Wheelock Student Center serves as the central hub of campus activity. Puget Sound's Mail Services and dining hall are located in the building, along with Diversions Cafe, the Bookstore, and administrative offices for student affairs and student government.

      Wheelock Information Center, located on the first floor, serves as the ticketing office for all campus events (except athletics), and is the main source for campus and community information.

      Diversions Cafe, also located on the first floor, is one of Puget Sound's three campus cafes. A Northwest-style coffee house, Diversions features fair trade coffee and espresso, Choice Teas, Naked juices, freshly baked pastries, and much more.

      The Diner is Puget Sound's dining hall. It offers a wide array of menu styles, including home-style comfort foods, Mexican, Italian, and Pacific Rim favorites, vegetarian and Vegan dishes, sandwiches made to order, and more. Marshall Hall and Upper Marshall Hall provide dining space to accommodate everything from team meetings and casual meals with friends to conference programs and special events. You can see a 360 panoramic view of Marshall Hall and the Diner through our online virtual tour for prospective students.

      Puget Sound has an active student government, the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound (ASUPS). With offices on the second floor of Wheelock Student Center, ASUPS oversees approximately 100 clubs and groups each year, in addition to numerous activities, such as LogJam!

      Located in the lower level of Wheelock Student Center, the Puget Sound Bookstore has all the Logger gear you need to show your school spirit, plus textbooks, toiletries, art supplies, snacks, and more. In addition to all the textbooks, pens, and notebooks required for class, the Bookstore offers a nice selection of fiction and nonfiction books, gift items, and Logger gear.

      Managed and staffed by students, The Cellar, located in the lower level of Wheelock Student Center, has the best pizza around, as well as breadsticks, cheese sticks, calzones, ice cream, milkshakes, and more! The Cellar also serves as a convenience store, offering cereal, milk, candy, chips, and bottled beverages.

      Tune in to 90.1 FM KUPS "The Sound" to hear Puget Sound student-, faculty-, and staff-hosted radio shows.       A meeting space that can accommodate approximately 50 people, Murray Boardroom is located on the first floor of Wheelock Student Center and is equipped with a data projector, dvd player, sound system, wireless microphone, wireless computer access, and available port.

    2. Kittredge Hall

      Kittredge Hall, located at the northeast end of campus, on N. 15th Street, is home to Kittredge Gallery and faculty offices for the art and art history department. Throughout the academic year, Kittredge Gallery hosts exhibitions and gallery talks by regionally and nationally renowned artists, as well as annual shows featuring student artwork.

    3. McIntyre Hall

      McIntyre Hall, located on the north side of Jones Circle, houses the Departments of Economics and Sociology and Anthropology, as well as the School of Business and Leadership. The Dell computer lab in McIntyre is one of the most popular general-access labs on campus, with 21 computers available for student use. 

      On McIntyre's garden level is Rausch Auditorium, a teaching and performance venue seating approximately 160 people. Student groups such as Ubiquitous They (improv troupe) and Campus Films often host special events and performances in Rausch.

    4. Jones Circle

      Puget Sound's main entrance at N. 15th and Alder streets takes visitors to Jones Circle, which offers access to Jones, McIntyre, and Howarth halls. Once an empty field, this space was the site where students and faculty members of then College of Puget Sound gathered on May 22, 1923, for the groundbreaking of Jones Hall, campus's first building.
    5. Howarth Hall

      Howarth Hall, located on the south side of Jones Circle, is home to the School of Education and the Office of Diversity and inclusion, as well as several campus services, such as international programs and human resources. The Career and Employment Services office helps students prepare for and find jobs on and off campus, and offers career advising and job-search strategies. The Center for Writing, Learning, and Teaching offers peer tutoring, writing advisors, grad school test preparation, and more.

    6. Jones Hall

      The first structure completed on campus, Jones Hall is Puget Sound's administrative hub, housing offices for  the president, the registrar, financial aid, and more, in addition to academic programs in African American studies, communication studies, and theatre arts. Located at the west end of Jones Circle, the building is also home to Norton Clapp Theatre, the college's main theater performance venue.

    7. Collins Memorial Library

      Collins Memorial Library offers an ideal location to study with an impressive reading room, group and private study areas, meeting spaces, and media labs. Physical and digital resources include more than 500,000 books and journals, audio files, images, and streaming media. Collins Library also hosts musical study breaks, special shows and exhibitions, guest speakers, and community events.

    8. Thompson Hall

      Thompson Hall, together with Harned Hall, forms Puget Sound's science center. Hands-on labs and learning spaces bring students and professors together to conduct research in animal physiology, fluid mechanics, science computing, and more. Classroom equipment includes a seismograph, a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, scanning and transmission electron microscopes, and a high-speed refrigerated centrifuge.

      Slater Museum of Natural History, located on the first floor of Thompson Hall, is a treasure-trove with more than 80,000 vertebrate and plant specimens, and one of the world's most important bird wing collections. Founded in 1930 it is the only natural history museum dedicated to research and education in a liberal arts college.

    9. Brown Family Courtyard

      Brown Family Courtyard is a 10,000-square-foot multilevel courtyard joining Harned and Thompson halls, and completing The Science Center at Puget Sound. Landscaped with native foliage,courtyard houses a research garden, a water feature, study and gathering spaces, and a dramatic glass gazebo cafe in the shape of a crystalline structure. The gazebo contains the Oppenheimer Cafe, offering specialty drinks and Grab & Go dining options.

      The brick courtyard floor showcases one of the science center's largest Science on Display features: a fractal design called Sierpinski's Carpet.

    10. Harned Hall

      Harned Hall, Puget Sound's 51,000-square-foot science laboratory building combines with Thompson Hall to form The Science Center at Puget Sound. This state-of-the-art facility fuses fluid space and innovative design to encourage collaboration across the science disciplines. 

      While in Harned Hall, be on the lookout for Science on Display, a series of art installations and physical features that integrate the study of science into the very experience of walking through the building. Features include a two-story analemma, Foucault pendulum, and more.

    11. Schneebeck Concert Hall

      Adjacent to the Music Building, Schneebeck Concert Hall is Puget Sound's main performance space, seating 500 and providing a venue for more than 100 student and faculty recitals, guest lectures, and concerts each year. Recommended parking is in the Thompson Hall parking lot, located on the east side of N. 14th Street and Union Avenue, or along the east side of Union Avenue.

    12. Music Building

      Puget Sound's conservatory-quality School of Music is located in the Music Building, in the northwest corner of campus, between Karlen Quad and Thompson Hall. Music majors and nonmajors alike can take music classes, perform in dozens of instrumental and vocal groups, and benefit from four-year music scholarships. Also located in the Music Building, the Community Music Department offers private and group lessons for community members of all ages and skill levels.

    13. Color Post

      The Color Post stands near the center of Karlen Quad, and commemorates past Puget Sound graduating classes. The post serves as a familiar landmark for soon-to-be graduates, as well; seniors line up for Commencement at the post and proceed along Commencement Walk to Baker Stadium each May.
    14. Commencement Walk

      Commencement Walk winds through the heart of campus, from Collins Memorial Library to Memorial Fieldhouse. It's a path walked by first-year students and families during Orientation, in one of campus's favorite traditions, the Welcome Walk, and again by graduating seniors, on their way to Baker Stadium for Commencement.
    15. Todd Field

      Located at the heart of campus, Todd Field joins Karlen Quad to form an expansive green space, perfect for an ultimate pickup game, intramural sports practice, or studying in the sunshine. Todd Field stretches from Wyatt Hall and the Thompson Hall parking lot on the west, to Trimble, Todd/Phibbs, and Regester residence halls on the east.

    16. Wyatt Hall

      Wyatt Hall is home to departments focusing on the humanities, foreign languages, and politics and government, as well as classrooms, conference rooms, and study spaces. More than half of Wyatt's classrooms are seminar style, accommodating the discussion-oriented teaching most common at Puget Sound. The building also features state-of-the-art slide lecture facilities, presentation rooms, and computer-enhanced classrooms—not to mention a three-story atrium with a dramatic installation created by internationally renowned glass artist (and former student) Dale Chihuly.

    17. Event Lawn

      Located along Commencement Walk, between Thomas Hall and Warner Gym, the Event Lawn hosts a wide variety of activities, including pickup games, musical performances, and tented receptions, among others. When not in use for special events, the lawn is an excellent spot for studying and soaking up the sun.
    18. Weyerhaeuser Hall

      Weyerhaeuser Hall enhances the intersections of research and real-world work, preparing students for the fields of neuroscience and health and behavior sciences. Weyerhaeuser is home to the undergraduate disciplines of psychology, neuroscience, and exercise science, as well as graduate programs in occupational and physical therapy.

      The 42,000-square-foot center houses classrooms, patient and teacher clinics, and teaching labs, as well as a mobility park and outpatient clinic that provides services for approximately 300 community members each year.

    19. Athletics & Aquatics Center

      Completed in fall 2016, the Athletics and Aquatics Center is adjacent to Memorial Fieldhouse and includes a 25-yard pool with eight 8'-wide lanes; three warmup lanes for instruction, rehabilitation, and therapy; and permanent seating for nearly 400 spectators.

      The space also houses team meeting rooms, a rowing ergometers room, and a sports medicine facility for Puget Sound's 23 NCAA Division III athletic teams.

    20. Memorial Fieldhouse/Pamplin Sports Center

      Located at the south end of campus on N. 11th Street, Memorial Fieldhouse opened as a memorial to the 138 members of the College of Puget Sound community who lost their lives in World War II. The multiuser facility houses basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickle ball courts, as well as a dance studio and climbing wall. Additional athletics facilities connected to Memorial Fieldhouse include the Athletics and Aquatics Center, Tennis Pavilion, and Fitness Center.

      In addition to sporting events, Memorial Fieldhouse plays host to special events, such as the annual Staff Recognition Luncheon and guest lecturers and performers.

    21. Theme House Row

      This stretch of N. Lawrence Street on the southeast side of campus is home to Theme House Row, a series of theme houses that serve as intentionally engaging living environments for sophomores, juniors, and seniors that create unique opportunities to extend the learning experience on campus beyond the classroom. 

      Theme houses are legendary at Puget Sound, giving sophomores, juniors, and seniors the opportunity to live together with peers who share common interests, including academic majors, athletics, foreign languages, healthy living, and more. Some houses include Soccer House, Japanese House, Live Green House, and Trans and Non-Binary House
    22. Social Justice Center

      The Social Justice Center is located at the corner of N. 13th and N. Lawrence streets, just east of Thomas Hall. Opened in 2016, the Social Justice Center serves as a meeting and event space for the Center for Intercultural and Civic Engagement, and hosts programs for various student groups.

    23. Student Diversity Center

      The Student Diversity Center houses student-directed programs for traditionally underrepresented groups, and gives students a comfortable meeting space and resources to explore all aspects of identity. The Student Diversity Center includes a meditation room and a student food pantry, among other programs and features.

      Located on N. 13th Street, directly south of the Center for Intercultural and Civic Engagement ("The Yellow House"), the Student Diversity Center shares space—and a partially enclosed event pavilion—with the Social Justice Center.
