Puget Sound Museum of Natural History
Founded in 1930, the
Puget Sound Museum of Natural History
is a
treasure-trove with more than 80,000 vertebrate and plant specimens, and one of the world’s most important bird wing collections.
Each year the museum hosts hundreds of local elementary, middle, and high school students, teaching basic field research skills, specimen conservation, and more.
Volunteers serve as museum docents, trained in specimen preparation, museum interpretation, collections use, and outreach programs.
