      2. Humanities and Social Studies Center

        Newly-built, spacious hub for classrooms, study lounges, and an outdoor garden courtyard (see photo #2). Fun Fact: this building is heated and cooled by geothermal wells, and collected rainwater from the roof goes towards flushing toilets and irrigation.

      3. Noyce Science Center

        Noyce Science Center, 1116 8th Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112, USA

        Home to a variety of classrooms, refurbished labs, the Kistle Science Library, and a greenhouse. Plus — hammocks right outside! Named after Robert N. Noyce 49, who co-founded Intel Corp. and was known as the "Mayor of Silicon Valley."

        A centrally-located hub of campus life — home to the dining hall, the Spencer Grill, Multicultural Suites, classrooms, the Wellness Lounge (picture #4), a game room, the mail room, and more! Having a rough day? The Laurel Leaf Lounge (picture #5) is known for being one of the top napping spots on campus.

      6. Bucksbaum Center for the Arts

        Stop by Bucksbaum to wander around the Grinnell College Museum of Art, enjoy an a capella performance in the Rotunda, or take in a show at Roberts Theatre. This sprawling complex is also home to Sebring-Lewis Hall (for student/faculty recitals and concerts), Flanagan Studio Theatre, 11 art studios, 15 music practice rooms, and more!

      7. Bear Athletic Center

      8. Natatorium

        Open to all students (when our Swim & Dive team isn’t practicing), the Natatorium is home to an Olympic-size pool, steam rooms, and hot tubs. Check out the time-lapse video to see what a home meet looks like — start to finish!

      10. Grinnell College Fieldhouse

        A 200-meter indoor track and indoor tennis courts await you at this state-of-the-art fieldhouse. Not a runner? Grinnell student-athletes have the opportunity to work at home meets, counting laps and assisting with events such as high jump and long jump. In 2016, Grinnell even hosted the NCAA Division III Mens & Womens Indoor Track and Field Championships!

      11. Rock Climbing Wall

        While Iowa is not particularly known for rugged terrain, enjoy a taste of the mountains in walking distance of your dorm! The climbing wall is typically open 4-5 days each week, and offers everything from bouldering to top rope climbing.

        This multipurpose event space hosts everything from themed Harris parties, film showings, student concerts (picture #3), room draw, and events such as ISO cultural night (picture #2). Harris is also the home of GORP (Grinnell Outdoor Recreation Program).

        North campus offers views of Mac Field, historic architecture, and the only residence hall with in-room sinks (Clark)! Younker hall (pictured in eighth photo) is home to the Stonewall Resource Center and an outdoor hammock space.

        South Campus is known for a fully indoor loggia, Cleveland beach, sand volleyball, and historic Main Quad — home to events such as Local Foods Thanksgiving. Rooms pictured are in Read Hall and Haines Hall.

      17. Mac Field

        Expansive green space near North Campus. Popular for ultimate frisbee and rugby, relaxing on a warm day, and the Arctic Lights celebration each winter (see pictures #5 and #6). Fun fact: 275 feet below Mac Field are 220 geothermal wells, which provide heating and cooling to the Humanities and Social Studies Center.

      19. Commencement Lawn

        When not in use for May Commencement, this grassy, shaded space is a popular location for outdoor class sessions in the fall and late spring.

      21. Center for Religion, Spirituality, and Social Justice (CRSSJ)

        A warm and welcoming community center for all students. Home to dedicated Hindu and Muslim prayer spaces, a meditation space, an interfaith library, larger worship and prayer spaces, and a lending-library.

        Grinnell College’s oldest building! Since 1885, Goodnow has served as an observatory, a library, and now as a mix of beautifully restored classroom and office spaces. You might even have your First-Year Tutorial in Goodnow (see picture #3)!

      23. The Forum

        Feeling sick? Wi-fi issues? The Forum is the place to go. Formerly a student center, this unique space now houses ITS, Student Health and Wellness, and the Digital Liberal Arts Laboratory. As a bonus, its one of Grinnells coolest-looking buildings at night.
