      Take a tour of the IUP campus and see how it's changed over the decades.

      1. Sutton Hall

        Completed in 1875, Sutton Hall was the first home of Indiana Normal School, which is now IUP. Today, it's the home for many administrative offices, including the president's, as well as some faculty and staff offices.

      2. Stapleton Library

        Stapleton Library was built in 1981, and it is connected to the front of Stabley Library. To enter Stabley Library, go through the front doors of Stapleton Library and keep to the right. The front steps of Stapleton Library were reconstructed in 2010.

      3. Fisher Auditorium

        Part of what is now the Performing Arts Center, Fisher Auditorium originally opened as a performance hall in 1939 and today still serves as one of the main locations for fine arts at IUP. A major interior renovation was completed in 2008.

      4. Oak Grove

        Long known as the heart of the IUP campus, the Oak Grove is where students, faculty, and staff continue use as a place to meet, study, relax and unwind.

      5. Wilson Hall

        Opened in 1894, Wilson Hall was where future teachers learned their craft. One of those students in the early days was Indiana native Jimmy Stewart, who went on to become one of the most respected and decorated actors in Hollywood. Wilson Hall later served as the IUP library, and since 2007 it has been the home of the IUP criminology department.

      6. Breezedale

        Built in 1868, Breezedale was at first the home of James Sutton, the brother of John Sutton. It was later donated to the university and was a men's dormitory, among other things, before it became the center for alumni relations in 1989. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

      7. Student Union

        The original Student Union became the Hadley Union Building after an extensive construction project in the early 1980s.

      8. Keith Hall

        Keith Hall was built in 1938 to serve as a training school for the university's student teachers. It opened in 1939 as the Keith Laboratory and Demonstration School. In 1970, it was converted to use for classrooms and offices. Keith Hall is scheduled to be demolished in early 2016 and replaced with a new dining facility.

      9. McElhaney Hall

        Built in 1931, McElhaney Hall has been used by many departments over the years. After a major construction project that was completed in 1997, McElhaney is now mainly used by economics, sociology and anthropology students.

      10. Pratt Drive

        The first photo was taken in front of Esch and Wallace dorms. The second photo was taken from roughly the same spot, in front of what now is Wallwork Hall.

      11. Esch and Wallace Halls

        Esch and Wallace Halls were demolished in the early 2000s and replaced by Wallwork Hall, one of IUP's new suites.

      12. Flagstone Theater

        Located in the lawn outside the east entrance of Sutton Hall, Flagstone Theater was a spot for on-campus events for many years. It's now part of the green space in front of Wallwork Hall.

      13. Ackerman Hall

        Built in 1964, Ackerman Hall is still used today as the home of the IUP Food and Nutrition, Hospitality Management, and Human Development departments.

      14. Folger Dining Hall

        After a renovation project that was completed in 2015, Folger Dining Hall continues to be one of the popular on-campus locations for students, faculty and staff to eat.

      15. Aerial View

      16. Miller Stadium

        Opened in 1961, George P. Miller Stadium, with a capacity of 6,000, is the home of the IUP football, track, lacrosse and field hockey teams.

      17. Lawrence, Scranton, and Shafer Halls

        Lawrence, Scranton and Shafer halls — sometimes called the "Governors' Quad" — were three dormitories located on the south end of campus. Today, Stephenson Hall sits on that location.

      18. Davis Hall

        Davis Hall was built in the 1960s, and is still used today as the home of several departments.

      19. Mack, Turnbull, and Stewart Halls

        Turnbull, Stewart and Mack, known as the Tri-Halls, were demolished and replaced in 2007-2008 by Putt, Delaney, Ruddock and the Suites on Maple East.

      20. Cogswell Hall

        Built in 1960, Cogswell Hall is the home of the IUP Music Department. It underwent a major reconstruction that was completed in 2006.

      21. Clark Hall

        Clark Hall was built in 1894, but destroyed by a fire in 1905. It was rebuilt, and now is used mainly for administration purposes.

      22. Thomas Sutton Hall

        Thomas Sutton Hall was razed in the 1970s. The spot it was located was an open green field until the New Humanities and Social Sciences building, which opened in 2016, took its place.

      23. Gorell Recital Hall

        In the 1970s, what was once called a chapel in John Sutton Hall was a reading room. In the early 1980s, it became Gorell Recital Hall. It's on the second floor of Sutton Hall, and is used today for a variety of activities.
