        The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, USA

        Grinnell’s Pioneer football team attracts plenty of its own fans, but for a Big 10 football experience, students head to Iowa City to watch the University of Iowa Hawkeyes — currently ranked second in conference.

      3. Iowa State Basketball

        Hilton Coliseum, Ames, IA, USA

        Did you know that the Iowa State Cyclones are currently ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Divison 1 Big 12 Conference? Catch a game in Ames, located just over an hour northwest of Grinnell.

      4. Iowa Cubs Baseball

        Principal Park, Line Drive, Des Moines, IA, USA

        The Iowa Cubs are a AAA minor-league baseball team, affiliated with the Chicago Cubs, whose home games are played at Principal Park in Des Moines. Come see stars before they hit the big leagues, enjoy a Cubbie dog, and try to catch a souvenir from the t-shirt cannon! (Our Admission staff got pretty lucky on that front.)

        For nine days every summer, over 100 hot air balloons ascend from the city of Indianola. Don’t miss the live music, fair food, nighttime balloon shows — and if you're feeling especially adventurous, take your own balloon ride with a trained pilot.

        Grinnell’s award-winning women’s Ultimate team, the Sticky Tongue Frogs, attend a tournament in Ames.

      8. Wells Fargo Arena

        The Wells Fargo Arena at the Iowa Events Center hosts athletic events like the Iowa Wild and Big Four Classic, as well as big name artists like Carrie Underwood and KISS.
