        The Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA) is a 320-acre parcel of land situated on beautiful Mozingo Lake. MOERA is operated by the School of Health Science and Wellness and provides a variety of outdoor education and recreation opportunities, including:

        • The MOERA Challenge Course
        • Shooting Sports (Trap and Archery)
        • Canoes and Kayaks
        • Other Outdoor Experiences
        • Observatory (operated by the Department of Natural Sciences)
        • Outdoor Research Areas (conducted by a variety of departments)

        It provides safe, fun and engaging experiential education opportunities, whether you are interested in learning new outdoor skills, staying physically active, or developing teamwork, communication or leadership skills.

      4. Jim Smeltzer Astronomy Observation Area

        Located at the Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA), the Northwest Observatory offers students and visitors a place to explore the night sky through telescopic observation and astronomy programs led by the School of Natural Sciences.
