Artist Statement
"In a conversation with Larry Goldrich, we discussed the benefit of additional benches in the Alumni Sculpture Garden. In response, I donated two art benches to be placed within the garden. The benches are stainless steel replicas of the drawing horse art students use on a regular basis in their drawing classes. The benches faced the Smith Building, originally constructed in 1902 as a woman's dorm, and an appealing drawing subject. Interestingly, those students who have not taken a drawing class have found an innovative use for the benches, as they are perfect for blocking the glare upon a computer screen.
